A man has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison for selling unlicensed sex drugs to boost his sex life.
The man was given a suspended sentence at the beginning of his 18-month prison term, but the court heard he was given an alternative option that had been considered by police.
He told police he planned to try Viagra, the brand of the drug used to treat erectile dysfunction, before going on to a shopping trip to Las Vegas.
Police officers arrested him when he was arrested and led him through the process of obtaining Viagra, according to police.
He said he then planned to buy Viagra from him, but when he was arrested he said he had done so to buy it.
He said he then went to a store, bought Viagra on the phone, and then went to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription, which he had been using for the past month.
Police said the man told them that the Viagra he bought for $9.99 would be used as a sex aid. He said he then purchased the prescription for $16.99 from the store and was arrested.
Police said the man is now facing charges and he was given a suspended sentence.
The man's lawyer, David Ricks, said the man had a history of drug and alcohol abuse and was under the influence of alcohol while in jail.
He said he had been taking Viagra and had taken it for several months, but it was still illegal in the United States.
Ricks said the man was arrested on the second-degree charge of selling unlicensed sex drugs.
The man, who is believed to be in his 20s, is expected to be sentenced on March 18 at the Federal Courthouse, No. 8, in Vancouver, British Columbia, on a charge of importing unlicensed sex drugs into the United States.

Ricks said he would like to hear the man's story about how he was able to take it because he was taking it for several months and was not on it.
Ricks said he has also seen men who have tried other options, like taking Viagra and taking the prescription medication for the same reason.
"I've heard from people who have tried it," Ricks said.
